New Shop is coming

Great excitement in Takapuna. Our Hospice Shop is on the move and expanding. Yes! We have taken on the corner site in Parkway Arcade that used to be the fish shop. (Smell is not included!)

Getting this shop up and running is going to be a mammoth task and is a huge investment for Hospice, both in finance and man-power. Changing from a fish shop, with all its cool stores, tiles, piped water and concrete floors, to a simple but elegant (hopefully) Hospice shop, is no simple task and we are very grateful to the landlord for his efforts in this area. This shop will be something really special, with top-quality merchandise, service and appearance. In other words, "the best of the best.

Paul Goodyer, the Manager of our Link Drive shop, has been seconded to the role of Project Manager and we wish him every success.

We are aiming to have the shop open in August, but in the meantime it is business as usual in our current premises.

Can you help?

Well, yes you can.

If you are able to offer any assistance with our shop fitout, in the area of design, the provision of labour, or in the supply of shop fittings (stands, racks, counter, etc.), we would be really grateful. Second hand is great, but we do want to keep the standard as high as we possibly can, to underline our commitment to developing this store as a first class shopping experience.

We have a fabulous group of volunteers in our Takapuna shop , but with the bigger premises, we will need to substantially increase - so we are looking for "new blood. Our final wish is for lots and lots of fabulous stock to sell, with a special effort for our Grand Opening. If you can help in this way, with even a single item of quality, you will be offering tangible help to us in achieving our dream of providing Hospice with an assured source of income in these uncertain times.
