Palliative Care Specialist

We require a full-time Palliative Care Specialist to work in our Medical team.

The appointee will:

• Provide supervision to registrars and Medical Officers in the IPU and in the Community as required.
• Provide support and advice to the Nursing and Family Support Teams in the IPU and Community as required
• Ensure patients and their families are appropriately informed of heir treatment options and empowered to make decisions affecting their care.
• Encourage a multi-professional team orientated culture by developing and facilitating positive, effective working relationships with all staff.
• Be available as a consultant to hospice patients in the community to support the Community Palliative Care Medical Officer and be available to provide telephone advice to General Practitioners and other Medical Professionals.
• Liaise with other medical providers to ensure continuity of care both while in the IPU and during admission and discharge.

Remuneration will be commensurate with experience.
